Agora is the customer-facing product we are building for NEOM Shared Services. It is a single interface for the tools, platforms and services required to operate seamlessly at NEOM. This product is accessible via desktop and a native mobile app (Android and iOS).

Project Description

About Client

NEOM is a futuristic mega-city project under development in Saudi Arabia. The project aims to be a hub of innovation, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology, powered entirely by renewable energy. With a focus on creating a modern, eco-friendly environment, NEOM is building a smart city that will serve as a global model for innovation and sustainable living.

NEOM is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to steer the country away from oil revenues and foster growth in new sectors such as technology, tourism, and entertainment.

Brief

NEOM, a futuristic mega-city, needed an employee experience portal to enhance communication, self-service, and access to essential services. The goal was to design a responsive, mobile-friendly platform that would empower NEOM's growing workforce by providing them with an intuitive and efficient way to manage travel, ticketing, and internal communications.

Unified Experience

Create a seamless interface that allows users to transition effortlessly between tools and services, enhancing workflow efficiency by enabling quick access to necessary resources and reducing cognitive load.

Implement a consistent and intuitive design language across all NEOM platforms to provide a unified user experience, ensuring clarity and ease of use.

Integrate collaboration features to facilitate information sharing and teamwork, while optimizing the user experience to maximize NEOM’s resources, driving both productivity and innovation.

Based on the insights gathered through our user interviews, we developed a persona called “The Pathfinder.
This persona reflects the traits of a forward-thinking, innovative individual who actively seeks out efficient and effective solutions. The Pathfinder is highly tech-savvy, values a structured and organized workflow, and prioritizes clear communication and seamless collaboration.

Comparator Analysis

When analyzing a product like the Agora Portal that lacks direct competitors, using comparators allows you to pull insights from adjacent systems and industries. In UX design, reframing based on comparators involves adopting specific language and principles from other platforms that share similar functionalities or user flows.

Enhancing Customer Satisfaction
  • FORCE: Represents ideas that compel users to take action, pushing them to adopt the platform or service.
     

  • SPUR: Represents initiatives that motivate users through rewards or external incentives, nudging them toward regular use.
     

  • INSPIRE: Represents more subtle or emotional incentives that encourage users to become attached to the platform.
     

  • STEER: Represents practical measures that guide user behavior, either through usability improvements or personalized experiences.

Stakeholder Management

Effective stakeholder management is crucial for the successful rollout of features.
 

  • Early Involvement: Engage key stakeholders like marketing, product, and tech teams early in the process to align on the strategy behind features such as incentives (e.g., daily rewards) or referral programs.
     

  • Clear Communication: Keep stakeholders regularly informed about progress. For instance, if implementing exclusive offers, update on how these are driving user engagement and meeting business goals.
     

  • Balancing Needs: Ensure that business needs and UX considerations are balanced, avoiding conflicts between teams when launching features like incentives that may impact user behavior and technical scalability.
     

  • Feedback Loops: Set up channels for stakeholder feedback, ensuring improvements for features like referral programs can be incorporated based on real-time data and user reactions.
     

By applying these principles, features like incentives, exclusive offers, and referral programs can be implemented smoothly, with all stakeholders aligned and informed.
